How big was the office? Team strength? 

Office was fairly vast comprising of 3 floors. It had a nice corporate look. All in all quite impressive!

Application Procedure

The application procedure is somewhat simple, you just have to mail your CV and cover letter to janiandco@gmail.com if you’re lucky enough you’ll get a reply about your status within a week or so otherwise you can always follow up and they will certainly let you know about your internship!

Duration in weeks. No. of days/week. Timings

I interned there for a month. The timings are very flexible. We were supposed to be there by 11 till 4:30 or 5.

Accommodation: how, where, how was it?

I stayed at my relative’s house which was near to the office and hence I did not face any such problem of accommodation although there are hostels and hotels near by.

First impression. First day, formalities etc. 

I was told to reach the office by 11 and the associate under whom I was to intern came dot at 11. She introduced me to everyone in office. The staff was extremely sweet and welcoming.

There were no formalities as such. I also met Paresh Jani who is the head of this firm. He asked me my major interests and allotted work accordingly. He is a very kind man and has a very cool sense of humor!

Main Tasks

The firm mainly deals with property matters so my work basically revolved around that. I was made to draft sale deeds, lease deeds etc to some extent.

I was also given cases to read to make case briefs that would be ultimately used as case laws in their matters. The files were huge! But they were also interesting and you could ask doubts to anyone.

They were kind enough to explain in the most simplified words ever!

Work Environment, People

The work environment is so chilled out! The people are very welcoming.

Even the associate under whom I was working was very approachable and understanding.

Best Things

Well, I would say that if you are a rookie this is a good place to intern! You actually learn something which varies from bookish knowledge.

Bad Things

The only bad thing was the language barrier. Most of the people converse in Gujarati and since I am not a Gujarati it was a little tough for me to communicate at times.

What did you do to chill? Co-interns, Colleagues

There were a lot of co interns so after we finished our work we would just go out for tea or light snacks.

There are a lot of places near by. If you love to read books, there is a crossword store just opposite the office!

Stipend/ Month

Well there is no stipend but we a got a very generous gift!

Anything else you’d like to tell

To conclude I would say it was nice internship, you get to learn a lot and you actually get work. So it was quite decent.

Biggest lessons

Well, I would just say that I learnt some networking skills.

You must learn to build relationships.
