Duration of internship and timings

I interned for a duration of 30 days i.e. 17th May, 2015 to 15th June, 2015. You also have the option to intern for a duration of 15 days.

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

When I got my confirmation as an intern under Rajan Narain, I received a mail which included the rules to be followed which were very clear and precise. On my first day, when I reached the office I was asked to fill in my details in the intern’s register.

I was guided towards a conference room where I was asked to wait as Rajan Sir was running late. I was given a file of one other client’s ongoing case to read.

Infrastructure of the firm is fine although you can see loads of bags of case files at most of the places there.

Main tasks

The main task was generally to read the case files and assist the associate working on that case file with any pending work related to the case.

Work environment and people

Mr. Rajan has a team of approximately 8 to 10 advocates working under him. A few of the Associates interacted with the interns, very less do.

Best things

Mr. Rajan encourages the interns to visit courts and tribunals as much an intern can which helps in experiencing court hearings. He discusses almost all his cases with his interns (which I a lot of pain from his side) and asks them to volunteer for any case the interns wish to work in.

Bad things

There was a large number of interns which made the place crowded most of the time. Many even sneaked out between internship.

Interns mostly had the work of reading case files which could just add to their knowledge.
