Application Process
For applying you just need to check on their website and what I was satisfied that there’s a column of internship and it wasn’t difficult task to look through application form is easily available on the website.
One should check regularly before the month of MAY in the case of Summer Internship.
Duration of internship and timings
The whole duration for internship was 12-14 days including submission of Reports to the officials.
Timings were 10 AM to 4 PM, weekends off. Timings wasn’t a really pain as one can leave if the work is been completed before time.
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
On first day we had been called for orientation in Auditorium, Mata Sundari College, New Delhi.
Giving a brief of each laws by the known Judges, Senior Advocates, Commissioners etc. which was quite helpful during the internship. For example Juvenile Act, Marriage Act etc.
It was quite a gainful knowledge and having this kind of opportunity is like a golden pot.
It really made me more indulged to study law in very interesting way.
Round of questions and answers was given to the interns who came from various colleges and number in total there were 256 intern for summer internship,2014
Main tasks
The interns were divided in 10 groups consisting of 20-25 students in each groups. Then each group got a planner (day schedules) set by the authorities.
On every each day we have to visited the venues such as Supreme Court , High Court, Tihar Jail, Police Stations and other government officials.
Interns had to write a report for visiting on such venues and submit it on the given day.
Work environment and people
You won’t ever feel that you are doing an internship as its quite fun to learn with lot of other students who came up from various colleges until unless you are social and not shy to interact with others.
Its really a great exposure for freshers as it builds confidence for entering in legal world.
Best things
There was no pressure from any of the Authorities. All the tasks was done calmly with gaining a full of knowledge.
Bad things
Stipend isn’t available.
All the such venues we were visited through our own expenses.
Coordination was the big problem.
Stipend
None
Biggest Lessons
One shouldn’t think about own benefits it will be better to think benefits for both the sides.
