Application Process
DSLSA published a form related to summer internships.
I got that form and after filling up the form, I got it sanctioned by my department and mailed them the form on their mail address.
Finally I received a call and mail relating to the confirmation of my internship.
Duration
6th July, 2015- 27th July, 2015
First Day
On the first day, we were called to the DSLSA office at Patiala House, Delhi.
The first day started with the assembling of students from different colleges across India.
It was followed by a brief introduction by Sh. Bhupinder Singh, the Project Officer.
There were various lectures delivered to us, such as history of DSLSA.
DSLSA was formed under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1937 and work for Juvenile, women, children, workers etc. and was formed under Article 20 and 21 of the Constitution.
It covers 164 gender resource centers and 11 district courts.
Also, we were taught about Constitution, which reflects of being the adversary system of Justice as at the top there is a judge being impartial towards the parties and the parties are allowed for legal formation putting before the judge case and the evidences.
Main tasks
Our main task was to observe the working of the places and to see to working of Legal Service Authority in various places like Tihar Jail, Juvenile Justice Board, Observation Home for Boys, Supreme Court, High Court and many more.
Moreover, we were also made aware about the practical working at various departments.
Environment
Working environment differs everyday.
We had to visit different places everyday.
At all the places working environment seems to be serious.
People at different places were very helpful.
They taught us everything about the working of the departments.
They tried to make the environment little less serious for the students, so that they can grasp the things easily.
Best things
Best thing was that we were able to feel the environment.
We came to know the real situation in which the administration works.
Practical aspect was shown to us which will be helpful to us in our future.
We were also made aware about the free legal aid provided to people by District Legal Authority.
Bad things
Once, the schedule was changed and we were not informed about it.
So, we reached there about one and a half hour early.
So, we had to wait for a long time.
Stipend
No
Biggest Lessons
Biggest lesson was the difference which we were able to see in the practical working and the working taught to us in the books. And also the real working situation of the administration.
