I mailed my CV to the office administrator- Jennifer D’costa at her mail id- jennifer.dcosta[at]parinamlaw.com in the month of April 2019 and followed up with her by calling the office.
One can mail their CV or resume to the HR at hr[at]parinamlaw.com stating the duration of the internship during which they wish to intern. However, make sure that you apply two months prior to your desired month of internship.
About the place
This firm has been recently set up in December 2019 by Ex ALMT- Juris Corp’s partner Mr. Hitesh Jain and his team along with two other ex-partners of JSA and Advocates, Mr. Paras Parekh and Mr. Ravichandran Hedge and their team, at Mumbai, Pune and Delhi.
First day formalities, infrastructure, first impression
On the first day, I was made to submit the requisite details to HR in the form of a worksheet. The office is situated in the prime area of Nariman point where most of the top tier law firms are present.
The office has a calming and relaxed atmosphere. All the senior associates and associates have their respective desks to work on. The partners have their separate cabins overlooking the rest of the office.
Note: Although on the first day, one might feel confused with respect to how the place works, however, one will find their way around the place eventually.
Main Tasks
Since this place is just 6 months old and is still expanding, I was able to work on a variety of laws and matters. My tasks comprised of paperwork to drafting and it consisted of research work on Real estate and property laws, Criminal and Quasi-Criminal laws, IBC, SARFAESI, Foreign Exchange laws, Commercial laws, Co-operative housing society matters and Commercial corporate laws.
The firm engages in a wide spectrum of work such as IP and media related laws, Real estate and property laws, Securities related law, Commercial Corporate and Corporate Litigation, Criminal Laws, Civil cases etc.
Tip: In order to make the most out of the internship, show the zeal and enthusiasm to work on any sort of tasks handed over to you. Always be on your feet so that the people around know that you are always eager and willing to work.
Good Things
All the people in the office were very sweet and welcoming and created an enjoyable environment for working. They are friendly, helpful and experienced people to work with. One can easily approach them for any sort of work related enquiries.
Bad things
There is no stipend.
Accommodation
Since I live in Mumbai, I commuted daily via the local trains. However, there are several Paying Guest accommodations and hostels in Mumbai for people who are based out of Mumbai.
