I got this internship through my professor. I was also asked to attach the CV for the same.

First-day formalities

After having a telephonic conversation with the lawyer, I was asked to reach the office at 10 AM. You have to come in proper attire every day (White shirt, black trousers and blazer).

Infrastructure

The office is in a fully air conditioned basement with proper sitting arrangement for intern along with a conference room attached with proper display apparatus for discussion on ongoing matters. Overall infrastructure is excellent.

First Impression

The office looked very comfortable when I first entered. After waiting for some time, I was called by the lawyer to have a chat. Tripurari Sir made sure that I feel I am important there unlike other work places.

He spoke to me very calmly telling me what work interns are given in the office and what are the responsibilities that come attached to it.

Main tasks

Murari Tiwari and Associates deal with matters of Criminal as well as Family nature. Work there is given according to the year the interns are in and how much interest they develop working there over their course of the internship.

Interns initially are told to go through the pending matters where they are asked to summarize the matter at the end of the day.

As I showed interest and gave my undivided attention to the work given there, I was included in the discussions of the cases with Tripurari Sir himself. In a period of 4 weeks, I helped in drafting bail applications and finding cases which required specific research for case laws that were used to further strengthen the arguments.

As an intern you are required to reach the court for the case hearings and make points to how the proceeding was conducted. A discussion on the same happens in the court afterwards.

Tripurari Sir made sure that all my doubts were given due importance and were answered properly.

Good things

I have never seen a lawyer with more than 25 years of experience taking classes for their interns in his office. On particular days, proper classes on drafting, pleading, Hindu Marriage Act, FIR were taken and all this was done along with court visits and other research work.

You get to learn a lot working there because Tripurari Sir makes sure when you are done with the internship, you have learned something.

The best part is that all interns are given due importance and are treated well. Timings are pretty flexible. If you wish to work till late, you can stay back in office whereas on days if you have to leave early, you can leave early with permission of course. This was probably the best internship I have ever done till date.

Tripurari Sir is very encouraging and wants to see the new age budding lawyers do good in their lives. He is someone who is always open for a conversation and tells you a lot about how to work your way through to become good advocates.

Bad things

The only bad thing was the time in which I was interning. In June, the courts are shut and you don’t get to visit the court a lot. Even after that, I got to cover the major district courts in Delhi in my term.

Lajpat Nagar is the nearest metro station. The office is just a 5 minute walk from there.

Other things

My co-interns were very friendly and good. My senior interns Vipul Sir and Shivam Sir both helped me a lot in whatever ways possible. I contributed the way I could with their help.

It was a wonderful experience throughout.
