An internship application form has to be filled which is given on the website.
First day formalities, infrastructure etc
On the first day, I was told to fill the joining form after which I was introduced to all the associates. It’s a small but spacious office and all associates and interns sit together so we can get work from anyone at any point in time. On my first day, I got some files that I had to read can come up with issues which had to be raised in the future proceedings.
Main tasks
The tasks I got were mainly filing exhibits, finding relevant and supporting judgements, drafting, research work etc. A brief introduction is given to you about the work that has to be done. The cases mainly compromise of Bankruptcy, Taxation Corporate criminal etc.
Good things
There are many good things to list out. As a first-year intern, it was a great learning experience. All the associates are very friendly and they explained to me the work and also helped me.
I also got an opportunity to the NCLT (National Company Law Tribunal), Bombay High Court, Maharashtra State Commission, City civil court a number of times to attend the hearings of various cases.
I got an opportunity to deal with a wide range of cases and also the visits to the courts gave me an insight to the hearings and also taught me how matters are supposed to be presented before the courts etc.
Stipend
It’s a non-stipend internship
Anything else, what you did to chill out, lessons learnt etc
Due to the location, it is an easy commute by the local trains of Mumbai. The office is at a walkable distance from the CSMT station.
For first-year interns, according to me, it is a good place to do an internship. And for the senior interns also it is an excellent place to do an internship.
