I got the internship through a reference. One may visit any of their offices and apply for the internship.

First Day Formalities Initial Impressions

The Legal Team of Diageo sits at the 9th Floor of UB Tower, UB City, Bangalore. I reported at 10 and was introduced to my Boss and all the other members of the legal team. Following that, had a brief discussion with my Boss. Every Intern is assigned a cubicle, a laptop and an internet connection.

On the first day, I was asked to research on the operations of the company and understand the functioning of the legal cell in the company.

Everyone in the legal team is very friendly and they will never make you feel like a newcomer. The work culture is very different and everyone has a very friendly approach to everything. The office timings are from 10 to 6 but you can leave early if you are done with your work.
Everyone in the team has lunch together and they will take you along.

Main Tasks

The main task involved checking compliance of the company with various Regulations and the Companies Act and preparing checklists for the same. Tasks of Reviewing and Suggesting Changes to the Directors Report, MSME Policies were given.

Good Things

The best part is the work culture. The work environment was relaxed and easy going. There was no compulsion to work till late hours and one may leave the office whenever their work is over. There is no compulsion to come in formals every day.

The office is situated at UB City Bangalore and the nearest metro station is Cubbon Park. For students coming from other cities, you may get good PGs or Co-Living spaces near Indiranagar.
