Advocate Pranay Agrawal, New Delhi
Application process with contact Details
The internship application can be made by sending your resume to pranay.agrawala@gmail.com
This is followed by a telephonic interview with questions regarding area of interest, expectations from the internship amongst others.
Duration, Timings
The duration of my internship was 1 month.
However there is flexibility in this regard and can be discussed with Sir over the phone.
Office is from Monday to Friday but there are times when work piles up and has to be carried back home for completion over the weekend.
First impression, First day formalities, Infrastructure
Pranay Sir is very friendly and makes sure that interns are at ease and comfortable the in office.
He gave me a summary about the current matters and queries he was dealing with and made sure I precisely understood the subject matter of each one of them.
Subsequent to this introduction, the day’s tasks were divided amongst the interns.
Main Tasks
During my internship I was engaged in research work, assisting in drafting representations in response to queries and agreements, attending client conferences and at times even getting in touch government departments for extracting information on notifications and ascertaining the regulatory requirements with respect to specific queries.
Sir is very particular about the presentation and readability of documents and makes sure each document which goes out from his office is perfect in this sense.
Be rest assured that you will be an expert in the form and organization of content with respect to drafting any kind of document by the end of the internship.
Since most of Sir’s clients are corporate entities one can expect to be involved in tasks related to commercial laws, taxation, labour laws, contractual disputes, regulatory compliances amongst others.
Work environment, People
Office environment is conducive to learning and since Pranay Sir and his interns sit in the same room in the office there is constant interaction with him.
This aspect was particularly beneficial for me since I never really got stuck with any problem as he was always present to help out. Sir has an encouraging attitude and doesn’t get irritated even if you ask him the most trivial question.
He expects associate level standards of professionalism from the interns and if one slacks on this count be rest assured that he will notice it and express his discontent about it.
Best Things
Sir did not have a junior when I was working in his office so a lot of work which the interns would get would be equivalent to what associates and lawyers do. This was an eye-opener for me and helped me learn a lot.
You will be encouraged and your work will be appreciated irrespective of the fact whether you successfully complete the task or not. Sir respects the effort interns put in and has an attitude of treating interns like colleagues and not as subordinates.
It’s not just about work all the time in this office and we would discuss a range of issues from politics to technology to movies to video games in our free time.
Bad Things
Just one restaurant delivers food there and it is damn expensive.
Biggest Lessons
A brief is like a miniskirt, it should cover all the important stuff but should be short enough to keep things interesting.
