Application Process

The application process was straightforward. I sent my CV and a writing sample to rohan@assentio.in. I received a prompt response and was asked to come in to meet the partners on a date convenient for me.

First Day Formalities Initial Impressions

I was asked to come in at 9:30 am. There were no formalities. I was introduced to all the associates and was assigned a workspace. The timings were 9:30 am to 7:30 pm although we were allowed to leave when we had completed our work for the day.

Main Tasks

The main tasks were usually research under corporate laws, arbitration and other civil laws. Other tasks included preparing notes on legal concepts and case briefs for hearings. Interns were also taken on visits to Courts and arbitration centres to observe hearings.

Good Things

The associates and partners were always ready to help or explain a concept in detail. Anytime an update took place in a matter I was working on, I was informed about it as well. If the subject I was working on got monotonous, I could always ask for another task to work on along with it.

The work environment was positive and encouraging. For the duration of my internship, I felt like I was a part of the firm as everyone was very friendly. The kitchen cupboard was always stocked with snacks.

Bad Things

There were no bad things/disadvantages to the internship.

Stipend

Rs. 5000/-

Accommodation Commute

The office is located in CIT Colony, Mylapore. So it was quite convenient and easy to commute via public transport.

Other Info

There are multiple restaurants in the area. Sometimes, we would all go out for lunch. My experience at Assentio Legal was a pleasant one. I learnt a lot and had fun as well.
