How did you apply?
I saw a post for the position on Lawctopus and applied in the prescribed format.
First day formalities, infrastructure, first impression
I was really nervous on my first day but the nervousness quickly faded after my interaction with Mr Anshul Gupta, Partner. The firm has a beautiful office in Panchsheel enclave and I was provided with a separate workspace which was an added advantage.
The first few days involved reading lengthy case laws concerning the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code and the consumer protection act.
Main Tasks
Real Estate is the primary area of practice of the firm. Thus, everyday work typically included assisting in the preparation of cases before RERA, NCLT and NCDRC. I also had to research and summarise relevant judgements of the Supreme Court, NCLT and the NCDRC.
Apart from this, I also worked on the preparation of replies concerning cases falling under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act.
Work environment, people
The work environment was very welcoming and comforting. My inquisitiveness was promoted and I was free to ask questions on various legal conundrums not limited to Real Estate.
I mostly interacted with Mr Anshul Gupta, who was always forthcoming to answer all my queries and taught me of the nuances involved in legal drafting. He mentored me in the truest sense of how I should approach my professional career.
Good Things
- A lot of work came at hand which helped me with my drafting and research skills.
- It was Eye-opening to witness the practices being followed in the Real Estate sector, at the present moment in our country.
- The work environment was friendly and stress-free.
Bad Things
None that I can recall.
Accommodation, Commuting to the office
Accommodation is easily available in nearby areas. The office is quite literally situated next to Chirag Delhi Metro Station so commuting was easy.
