First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

The office is situated in the basement, chamber number 23 & 24, of Tis Hazari, New Delhi. When I entered, there was a chamber of a decent size, far better than that of others residing in district courts of Delhi. I was asked to report the office at sharp 9:45 am and I reached the office on time.

I was introduced to all the associates and my co-interns. All of them were very humble and friendly. They guided me throughout the period of Internship. After that, we all were allocated our respective work.

Main tasks

Here we deal extensively with diverse areas of law such as Family Law, Hindu Law, Education Laws, Matrimonial Law, etc, of each District Court and Delhi High court.

The work which we were assigned were mostly visiting district courts and attending the hearings, getting to know about the cases and their judgements and also, we got to learn drafting and filing of the cases and their motions.

I got to visit every district court. We were accompanied by associates, and sometimes sir as well. We also got to visit the Delhi High Court.

Work environment and people

Outstanding work environment, Sir and all the associates are very nice. The associates are very helpful and approachable. Sir himself used to teach us facts regarding cases and made us learn a lot.

Accommodation

I’m a resident of Delhi, hence I didn’t have any issues for accommodation, but others can opt for PGs. Since it’s located amidst the central Delhi hence PGs are easily accessible.

Good things

One gets to enhance their learning skills along with exploring litigation. Sahni sir is a very kind, genuine and humble man. He closely studied our work and genuinely asked about our experience.

It was indeed an enjoyable journey. We frankly worked together as a team. Sir often used to bring homemade food and gave lunch treats to us.

It was my first litigation Internship and trust me, there’s nothing bad about this. This was overall a really good experience. It gave me a lot of exposure and insights into law. It taught me the basics of litigation and guided me for my future path.
