First Day Formalities Initial Impressions
Everyone in the office has left for the court before I arrived. Ma’am (Sai sirs wife) was kind enough to put me at ease and told this happens every time a new intern arrives. Later that day I met with Sai sir and two of his associates and another associate/intern. I didn’t form any opinion good or bad on the first day.
Main Tasks
I did extensive research on the Civil Procedure Code. Also researched on Evidence Act, Limitation Act, Consumer Protection Act, Constitutional Morality etc. Drafted a complaint to NCDRC. Briefed one of the associates on IPR related cases, writ petitions etc.
Good Things
Got to learn a lot about how CPC is actually followed in practice. It feels good to know that the cases you researched are being quoted in the court. Got to see Sai sir prep a witness before his cross-examination. All associates are very friendly especially Abhishek.
Bad Things
Although I visited Courts often but couldn’t see Sai sir arguing much. My bad luck, I guess, also, I failed on more than one occasion to complete the task given to me. Most embarrassing of those failures was research on recent development in Federalism, which Sai sir needed before a news debate.

Accommodation Commute
I live in Delhi but still travelling every day to Noida, sector-51 was hectic. I took the metro.
Other Info
It is difficult to chill when you have to research on a topic which is urgently needed in court tomorrow.
