First Day Formalities Initial Impressions
I was assigned to read some cases. Follow the court the proceedings. Assist my advocate with the case briefs, study some pending PILs in the advocate’s office. I was told the follow up the activities of Advocate General.
Main Tasks
I use to read the ongoing cases and make a brief of them. Sometimes, I was assigned the research work for any particular case for the trial. I also asked to follow all the arguments which were made in the course of the trial.
Sometimes, I was given the work of photocopies. After that, I was also told to keep the demarcation between the civil and criminal cases. I was also told to keep a track of meeting of the Advocate General and the legal discussions which used to happen throughout the day.
Good Things
They were very co-operative with me, they answered all of my doubts whenever I used to have one. The nature of the work which I was assigned was very helpful in learning the aspects of law and procedure.
My work used to be in a limited time period. I learned many researching techniques and developed researching skills by the kind of work which I was allocated.
Bad Things
Sometimes I used to be assigned so much work that I had to wait till quite late.
