Application Process
I sent my CV along with a cover letter to internship@aralaw.com 3 months in advance. After a short telephonic interview, I received my confirmation mail.
Timing
9:30 am-6:30 pm. Though one can have to stay back late to complete the work assigned.
First Impression, First Day formalities and Infrastructure
The law office is situated on the 10th floor of the Capital building in BKC. The office, like it’s surrounding is also very fancy.
On my first day, I was introduced to all the associates and interns working at the office. I was then given a desk and computer where I would be working for the rest of my internship period.
I was also introduced to my mentor who assigns you a topic for a presentation which has to be done at the end of your internship.
Main Tasks
My area of interest being corporate law and the firm specializing in the same field, I was given work related to the Companies Act, 2013, the Indian Contract Act, 1872, the Stamp Duty Act, 1899, Master Circulars by RBI. I drafted some legal documents as well.
Work Environment and People
The firm has a very professional environment.
But, at the same time, the associates are friendly and always ready to help and clarify any problem one faces while working.
