Application Process
The process of selecting the intern is based on the form filled by the candidates which are made by available by DLSA in the month of may.
The form could be sent through mail, courier or by hand.
Duration of internship and timings
21 Days i.e. 5th June to 25th June.
Timings are 11 AM TO 4 PM (Flexible)
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
The 1st day started with the assembling of all the students from different colleges across India in the auditorium of Mata Sundari college, New Delhi.
The session was followed by Mr. Sanjay Sharma [project officer] DLSA with a brief introduction. Students were briefed about the legal aid programme and DLSA activities.
Further the session was followed by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Badar Durrez Ahmed [Executive Chairman, DLSA] who was ready to answer all the quires related to legal aid.
Futher, Mr. Surinder S. Rethi [officer on special duty, DLSA] gave a powerpoint presentation of the work performed by DLSA.
Several more lectures were given by the other members.
Further the same was carried on the 2nd day also with other lectures. On the end of second day different groups were given to intern. I was allotted group-x with other 25 intern.
Appraisal:- DLSA showed immense generosity by arranging snacks, tea & lunch for about more than 250 interns for 2 days.
Main tasks
On the first day itself all the interns were handed for 21 Days Schedule.
All the places that we are supposed to visit are listed in the schedule. Last day we had to submit a project.
Work environment and people
The people in my group was very friendly with hard working thought.
All were interested to visit the places which were given in the schedule to know more information from there.
Best things
The best thing was that we visited many places which we could not visit easily.
We met the criminals in the Tihar jail which is not possible for normal person to visit and meet them.
We also visited the supreme court, High Court, District Court, Children Home, Observation Home, etc.
All the places listed carried a memorable moment for me.
Bad things
The worst thing was that the hot summer was a painful partner with us.
Whole day doing a work in sun was a painful job for all the interns.
Even though we are not paid for the work but just given the knowledge.

Biggest Lessons
The biggest lesson I learned that was inspite of hot summer everyone was happy with the work we were allowed to do because the problem we are facing in our life is nothing as compared to the people problem we saw.
