I applied through the Intership and Placement Cell of our department University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh.

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
On the very first day, I visited the court of Judge Ajay Kumar. I heard the hearing of one criminal case and then he called in his office for the interaction.
He told the scope of Judiciary and litigation. According to him, there is a lot of difference between the theory and practical in law.
He also asked question from family law. He makes me understand about the validity of marriage under Hindu Marriage Act.
Main tasks
There was no main task as we were interning in DLSA so we have to visit the Different Courts, Child Welfare Home, Old Age Home, Police Station and Lok Adalats.
Work environment and people
The Free Legal Aid provided to people is the best thing in DLSA and quick decision making, mediation and conciliation processes, Lok Adalats all are having their own benefits.
Best things
The best thing was the hospitality of Chief Judicial Magistrate, and the other Judges there in the court rooms. They treat us well and gave their precious time to us.
Bad things
There is only one bad thing that is infrastructure in the courts and police station that’s it.

Biggest Lessons
I had a great experience after attending the different courts, conversing with civil judge and Additional and Session Judge.
Interaction with parties during the mediation and visiting on various sites such as Children Welfare Home, Old Age Home, Police Station.
I had put all the efforts during the internship. I got to know the various concepts, rules, law through this internship. it will be beneficial for me in the coming tomorrow. It will also helpful for my further studies too.
Accommodation
I resided in Panjab University hostel as DLSA, Panchkula is nearby Panjab University, Chandigarh
Office Timings
The timings were relaxed as we reach there at 9;30 am and come back by 1:30 pm.
