Application Process
I found the internship through a personal contact.
Duration of internship and timings
11th December – 11th January
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
I first met him in court. He took us to all courts of district court and told the function and working off each court separately. He told me the basic concepts of the court .
Main tasks
I learnt how to argue a case, your way to argue with judge, your way to ask question from witness, witness cross examination and many more basics of a lawyer in court. I met with many other lawyers through them. In court his 3 associates also work so it is very easy for you to get work.
In office I worked with their assistants and that was one of the best part of my internship. They all are very young and supportive.
You can ask them anything anytime. In office I usually worked on files of next day case and prepares their brief. He also told me to research on new criminal law (amendment) act,2013 and to make briefs of cases.
Work environment and people
The office is not very big. Mr. Gaur normally works in District Court Noida and Bulandshar. In office there was 3 junior and son of Mr. Gaur also works. All are very good and supporting. If you want leave from office or court they will give you permission very easily.
Best things
I learned about the working of court, how to agrue with the opposite counsel and judges and how to examine the witnesses.
Bad things
Nothing that bad as it was my first internship experience i learned alot from it.
Stipend
None
Biggest Lessons
District Court is best place to interns from 1st year and 2nd year as you learned the basic working of courts and law. That was a very good experience.
