Duration of internship and timings
October 2012 – November 2012
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
It was a pretty decent work experience.
It was a formal day at work like any other usual litigation internship.
You get to sit and work in the Allahabad High Court.
Main tasks
There is a lot of research and drafting work.
Some of your important works will include drafting agreements, case comments, research work, etc.
Work environment and people
It is a formal work environment. I would go, would be given some work, the work was reviewed and I was suggested the changes and the day would go on like-wise.
Best things
It is good to be witnessing matters in UP High Court. It is different from how all the other metropolitan based high courts function. I was thrilled to see the Allahabad High Court, and it is pretty good.
Bad things
There aren’t essentially bad things except it is quite humid in such areas and sometimes you will feel out of place may be.
Stipend
No stipend.
Biggest Lessons
I could foresee a good future of litigation in under-developed areas. There’s a lot of scope in the field in such areas too.
