Application Process
I applied through a contact.
Duration of internship and timings
June – July 2013
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
I was called at 10 am but I had to wait till 11.30 am for any of the associate to reach office. I was taken to my desk by the first associate who entered and was given a task to make a list of dates of the cases pending in July, given I was a first year student.
They have only one floor and it is crammed up. There is a pantry, where you can make maggie, coffee or tea, and eat lunch.
Main tasks
They included reading files, drafting SLPs, counter affidavits, and legal research. Yes! Even for a first year student.
Work environment and people
Work environment is chilled out. We get an hour for lunch that we can avail anytime during the afternoon and go out or eat inside the pantry.
Best things
Chilled out work environment, drafting for a first year student, and the one hour lunch break.
The interns had to treat the firm on their last day, so some got brownies, some got ice cream, some got donuts.
Bad things
No stipend
Stipend
No
Biggest Lessons
Keep asking for work, otherwise everybody will be happy once you leave the office.
