INTERN DETAILS
SALOMI CHRISTIE, SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE IN LAW, 5TH YEAR, BA.BL(HONS.)
DURATION OF INTERNSHIP
DECEMBER 2014 TO FEBRUARY 2015 (3 MONTHS) – {INDIA INSTITUTE} –
I interned at India Institute, a non-profit think tank at Saket, Delhi from 15 December, 2014 to 15 February, 2015. I was selected after a telephonic interview with Mr. Baladevan Rangaraju, its founder.
I stayed with my sister at her apartment in North Campus and traveled every day to work by metro.
I had my work cut out for me since Day 1.
It was to assist in preparing a database of legal provisions for an application called I-torney (which just so happens to have been finally launched just a week or so ago and is available on Google Play Store. Visit i-torney.com for more details).
The office was small but very comfortable because all the staff were very friendly and fun to work with. We used to have weekly discussions apart from our usual work.
At one such discussion, I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Tom G. Palmer of the Atlas Network. Another time I had the very interesting experience of being part of a Socratic discussion for the first time in my life.
It was led by Mr. Andrew G. Humphries from the Reason, Individualism, Freedom Institute.
The entire internship was a fun learning experience. The work was tedious only because I got tired from the long commute.
But the stuff I learnt and the incredible people I met was totally worth the long Metro rides sans seats.
