First Day First Impressions
I was pretty apprehensive about my internship since it was my first ever corporate internship. However, the people at the firm, especially the associate under whom I worked, made me feel a part of their firm right from the beginning with ample amount of work allotted to me.
The interns are given the opportunity to interact with the partner, Mr. Vinay Chauhan on the first day itself. The interns are allotted a decent amount of work for the entire span of their internship.
The interns are provided with their own cubicle and are expected to bring their own laptops but all other possible resources required are provided by them.
Since I had just completed my 2nd year, I wasn’t particularly familiar with relevant rules and regulations relating to Securities Law, however, I was given ample time to study and do my own research before I was asked to submit any work allotted to me.
Main Tasks
The assignments included drafting appeals, written statements and other pleadings that had to filed before the Hon’ble SAT, NCLT and SEBI.
I also drafted multiple replies to showcause notices issued by SEBI against clients under various SEBI Regulations and rules.
Best Things
The firm is a small one which is why it works as an advantage for the interns as we always had work in our hands. It’s hard to get bored when you are constantly working under a time limit.
Bad Things
It is not a full service law firm and specializes in corporate and securities law matters, so you don’t really get a chance to explore other areas of law. However, if corporate and securities law are your areas of interest then this is a perfect place for interning.
