The Themis 2020 Moot Court Competition will be held at the School of Law, Christ (Deemed to be University) Lavasa, Pune from Friday, the 27th of March till Sunday, the 29th of March, 2020.
The Competition aims at providing an opportunity to law students across the country to practise and expand their knowledge of law. It provides a platform for students to compete in a simulated proceeding. The competition is carefully structured to judge not only theoretical knowledge but also practical skills of the participating teams.
Registration form will be released on Sunday, the 19th of January, 2020, 12:00 am and registrations shall be allowed until Wednesday, the 19th of February, 2020.
Eligibility
Students pursuing 3 years/ 5 years LL.B. degree course are eligible to participate in this competition.
Only one team can participate from each institution.
Registration
The team registration is to be confirmed on the basis of the memorial’s merit.
The same will be notified by Tuesday, the 25th of February, 2020, through electronic mail.
Selected teams must confirm their participation by Saturday, February 29, 2020, by sending an email to mootcourts.lavasa@christuniversity.in.
A sum total of Rs. 5000/- is to be deposited on or before Saturday, 29 February 2020, wherein a deposit of Rs. 500/- is to be made by Wednesday, 19 February 2020 and the remaining sum of Rs. 4500/- can be submitted upon memorial selection on or before Saturday, 29 February 2020.
The payment is to be made in favour of CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Lavasa via the issuance of a Demand Draft. For an online transfer the details required are Address, College Name, College Address along with an email Id. The online payment is to be done through the payment portal (Christ (Deemed to be University), Lavasa).
Enquiries and Clarifications
Teams may request clarifications and corrections by sending an email to the organising committee at :mootcourts.lavasa@christuniversity.in.
The last date for seeking clarification with reference to the moot proposition is Thursday, 20 February 2020.
Submission of Memorials
Each Team participating in the Competition must prepare one Petitioner and one Respondent Memorial.
The memorials are to be submitted on or before Saturday, 22 February 2020, 11:59 pm
No extension shall be granted after Saturday, 22 February 2020.

Accommodation
The Organizers will provide accommodation, meals and refreshments to all the members of the participating teams for the duration of the Competition i.e. from Friday, 27th March, 2020 to Sunday, 29th March, 2020.
A photo ID issued by the Government must be carried by participants to avail accommodation during the event as per Government regulations.
Awards
- Best Team :The winning team of the Themis 2020 National Moot Court Competition will be awarded with a certificate, a trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 40,000/-
- Runners Up : The Runners up team for the Themis 2020 National Moot Court Competition will also be awarded a certificate, trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 20,000/-
- Best Researcher : There will be a Best Researcher prize, based on a researcher’s test. The will cash prize of Rs. 5000/- awarded. The Researcher Test would be held on Tuesday, March 27th, 2020 after the Registration at the venue
- Best Speaker : A prize of Rs. 5000 /- will be awarded to the participant who is adjudicated to have performed best during her/his oral presentations. The Best Speaker will be awarded a trophy and a cash prize.
