It also promotes research through its various centres of excellence- one of which is the Centre for Law and Economics.
About the Blog
The GNLU Law and Economics Blog is set up as a part of the GNLU Journal on Law and Economics by the GNLU Centre for Law and Economics for the purpose of promoting students to come out with concise law and economic analyses for relevant topics. It seeks to establish itself as a go-to platform for promoting discussions which are centred around law and economics. The Journal is one of the first law journals in India to focus exclusively on the interdisciplinary field of law and economics. Noted legal and academic luminaries like Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, Justice (Retd.) A.K. Sikri, Prof. Tom Ginsburg (UChicago Law School) and Prof. Thomas Ulen (University of Illinois) serve on the Journal’s Advisory Board.
Theme
All the submissions made to the blog must relate to any contemporary issues related to law and economics, or can analyse any contemporary issues from the lens of law and economics. Some examples of themes can be:
- Understanding the COVID-19 Pandemic from a Law and Economics Perspective
- Understanding the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Amendments from the Law and Economics Perspective
- Alternative Economics
- Importance of Incentives to ensure compliance with International Law
- The Economics of Regulation
- The Economics of Securities Regulations
This list of themes is merely indicative. Interested students can write on any relevant topics on the subject of law and economics. The submissions must be between 700- 1500 words long, and all the references must be hyperlinked. All submissions will be edited and reviewed before they are put on the blog.How to submit?
