First impression, first day formalities:
I was made aware about the court’s etiquette, its functioning and powers of magistrates, division of power, it was quite informative.
Then I was introduced to the work which was allotted to me.
Main tasks:
During the tenure of my internship I attended Courts, drafted bail petitions, had to read cases and had to prepare the case briefs, list of dates. I was also allotted with research works related to different cases.
One of the best part was attending client counselling sessions.
Work environment and people:
The work environment is friendly and co-operative, supportive and motivating.
Best things:
Gained the practical knowledge of court and applied whatever I studied.
Also, I used to interact with the JMFC Ms. Angelina John, she was very friendly and she used to tell me a lot of things about judiciary.
Bad things:
Nothing as such.
Biggest lessons:
Hard work beats talent, when talent doesn’t work hard.
Stipend:
Depends upon the work you are assigned to and your performance as well.
Rating:
10 out of 10.
Accommodation:
I am a resident of Jamshedpur, but there are various PG’s available in that area.
