Application Process

For Application Process one has to submit Curriculum Vitae along with the Recommendation Letter from college to the Assistant Registrar.

If Assistant Registrar isn’t available then you can go and submit to Registrar which will be a quick response 🙂

Duration of internship and timings

I interned in the month of July, 2014.

Timings will be 10:00 AM to 17:00 PM

There’s no hard and fast rule for staying till the end- it’s flexible depending upon the Cause List for a day.

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

For this internship period, judicial authoirity was taken over by Mr. Rao, Deputy Registrar so I had to visit him in his office on the very first day.

I was the only intern so I didn’t face any hassles. Mr. Rao showed me some of the books related to Consumer Law and after that he made me visit the library ( it was looking like a dungeon )

Main tasks

Being a Fresher sometimes it was an easy task, not loaded with serious work. So I had hardly been given serious tasks to do. Preparing case analysis from each of the cases was my main task, and personally, I insisted some of the consumer lawyers present over there to go through my analysis so that I could know my mistakes.

Work environment and people

Hon’ble Justices, Consumer Lawyers and Staffs in NCDRC, I shall say were quite cooperative if you showed some keenness to know/ learn more.

They made me learn consumer law in a rather interesting way and I expect it will be helpful in my career, at some point.

Bad things

They should make proper guidelines for internships just like Legal Services, DSLSA. No proper structure/ program exists for internships.
