Application Process

No hectic formalities, in case you are interested to intern you may give him a call and ask for an appointment, he will call you up for an interview and thereafter you will be allotted an associate to work under.

Duration of internship and timings

Duration of internship varies from minimum of 21 days to 30 days maximum and the timings are from 10 a.m to 4 p.m.

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

Since it was my first internship I was a bit nervous, I called him to ask for internship and he summoned me to appear before him the next morning for an interview, the next morning I was there after revising all that I had been taught so far in my preceding semester fearing that he will be testing my legal knowledge, when I arrived at his chamber I got a bit more nervous seeing his serious face as he was discussing the cases scheduled on that day with his associates.

I was told by an office-boy to sit for a while and he will be calling me as soon as he gets free.

Finally the time came and I went inside the office.

The seriousness on the face of Mr. Jaiswal again started bothering me, holding my nerves I greeted him good morning and a humble and polite reply gave me a sigh of relief.

Thereafter he told me to relax as I was getting nervous, thereafter he took my interview which was more of an interactive session, he asked more about my understandings rather than what is there in books.

After putting forth few questions before me he asked one of his Junior Associate to be my mentor during my internship.

No other formalities were to be complied with apart from an interview and as far as the infrastructure is I was called at his chamber at district court which had only basic facilities and nothing more.

Main tasks

On my first day I was told to wander from court to court and see how the trial court works, but thereafter I was allotted some drafting work as well like drafting application for extension of dates, application for leave, RTI’s and application for obtaining a copy of court’s order.

Also Mr. Jaiswal asked me to company him to courts to see arguments taking place.

In the last week of my internship I also had an opportunity to visit Mediation cell with Mr. Jaiswal.

Work environment and people

The work environment is good and the associates are very caring, they treat you like younger brother or sister and are very friendly.

They help you whenever you are in need and share their own life experiences.

Good work environment, opportunity to learn more and more.

Bad things

Since the court campus is an old one therefore the infrastructure is not so good.
