The application process was complete within a month. I mailed Ms. Pooja at pooja.chitalia@aralaw.com 6 months in advance.

I was interviewed over the phone and asked about my previous internship experiences and my areas of interest and the subjects I was reading at my university.

After that, I was given the option of interning at the Mumbai office or the Bangalore office.

Duration of internship and timings

1st December – 31st December

Time: 9:30 am – 6:30 pm

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

It’s a real warm feeling walking into the office. They don’t have a massive library stacked with books on end but you’ll find what’s necessary. Also, I had to chase recent notifications by the MCA.

So the internet and the guidance of the associates will be all you’ll need. Another interesting thing about this place is that the managing director takes quite the interest in his interns.

He once called us into his room, assigned us mentors and asked us how the firm could contribute to our degrees.

Main Tasks

Making newsletters, drafting memos, presentations, case notes, and process notes eg. Fast track mergers – a process note.

Work environment and people

The environment and the people here are really warm. The associates are approachable, which is important for one to be able to ask for help without the hesitation holding you back.

Bad things

The only bad thing for me was the expensive food in the building. But besides that, I can’t think of a bad thing to say about this internship
