First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
Siliguri being a place where Bengali is predominantly spoken language, all the formalities and court proceedings took place in Bengali which affected my learning process since I rarely know how to speak in Bengali.
Language barrier was the biggest con.
Main tasks
I was taught the basics of law and how the court proceedings worked.
Since I was in the first year, I hardly knew anything so it was a bit difficult and boring in the beginning but after a few days, I started understanding the basics of court proceedings and so it was okay after all.
Work environment and people
Advocate Sir was a very kind and a refined gentleman always ready to help and support me. He translated bengali drafts into English for me so that I could understand and learn how it is drafted.
Best things
The working environment was very supportive and nice.
Bad things
Language barrier was the biggest problem since all the work and court proceedings are done in bengali.
Stipend
No stipend
Biggest Lessons
Law is something that needs a lot of research and without one it is useless to approach the court.
