My internship was arranged by my Grandpa. He happenes to be the lawyer’s friend.

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
I was introduced by my Grandpa and due to this the first day nervousness/euphoria was abandoned.
Main tasks
My main task was actually to accompany him for the court hearings. Due to scarcity of torts cases, I was seldom allotted work. But, research work was awarded to me on certain cases and searching for precedents was also my job sometimes.
Work environment and people
He is a great lawyer with in-depth knowledge in civil cases. He used to take great pleasure in teaching me things about court proceedings and the real work culture of lower courts.
Best things
It was in close proximity to my hometown. It’s basically an assistance job to a lawyer practicing for more than 30 years now. So, you get to learn things every then and now.
Bad things
He was a friend of my Grandpa. I guess that creates a sort of invisible boundary which may limit the work you get, and your share of getting criticized by the senior lawyer.
