First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

The head office of the NGO is decent with calm surroundings as it is situated in the outer part of the city.

The office campus also has a garden attached to it. The work aura was quiet sincere as everybody in the office was busy doing their own errant which they have been assigned.

On the first day I was given a notebook and work sheet from Mr. Alok Awasthi (Administrative Officer).

The whole atmosphere of the office really impressed as I got a feeling there is a lot of work here.

Main tasks

1. Filling of data collected for various projects.

2. Visiting villages and taking the update of the ongoing projects like solar lanterns distribution, constructions of gobar gas plants.

3. Working with the self help groups of micro finance projects.

Work environment and people

After first day of completing the formalities the people at the NGO occasionally talked but after seeing that I am regular on time at the office and very much enthusiastic about the work they developed with me a friendly attitude. They were very much serious about their work and never made any compromises on that part.

Best things

You get know about the basic rural problems around a big urban city. The feeling of helping the rural population comes from within as the quality of work will make you realise the same.

Bad things

The office is quite far away from the main city and also inside a colony so its a little bit confusing for a person to reach their for the first time.

Biggest Lessons

Sensitize yourself with the problems of the rural community. They are aware of their problems but sometimes due to lack of resources they lag behind but when the same is provided they can recover/ flourish.
