About the Organiser
Indian National Association of Legal Professionals (INALP) is an association that aims to represent the legal professionals of India on a global platform while promoting the rule of law and serving society. INALP aims to bring together the Indian legal fraternity with the global peers on a platform to ensure that every legal professional gets ample opportunities to evolve on par within the international legal ecosystem.
International Law Institute [ILI] is a leading provider of training and technical assistance in international law, economics, and other aspects of international relations. Established in 1955 and formerly part of Georgetown University, since 1983 ILI is now an independent, non-political, non-profit 501 c 3 educational institute serving a global constituency. More than 38,000 participants, from over 186 countries, have been trained by ILI and its global affiliates.
About the Web Panel Discussion
Indian National Association of Legal Professionals with The International Law Institute has taken the initiative to organise a Webinar on “The Future of the World Trade Organisation”.
Speakers
- Dr. ANIRUDDHA RAJPUT: He is a Member of the UN International Law Commission (2017-21). He was the Chairperson of the Drafting Committee for the 69th Session of the ILC in 2017. He has recently joined Withers’ Public International Law and International Arbitration Groups as a consultant at London
- Dr. ARTHUR APPLETON: He is the founding partner of Appleton Luff, a boutique law firm specializing in international trade. He was a co-editor of a major work on the WTO, described by one reviewer as like a “Mercedes S-Class” among books on international trade.
- Mr. PATRICK MACRORY: He has practiced trade law in Washington DC for many years. He was Editor-in-Chief of the WTO work that Arthur Appleton co-edited. He is Director of the International Trade Law Center at the International Law Institute.
- Mr. MARK LINSCOTT: He spent many years at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative. Among other positions, he was Assistant USTR for the World Trade Organization (WTO) and Multilateral Affairs, and Assistant USTR for South and Central Asia. He led efforts in the bilateral Trade Policy Forum with India.
Eligibility
Any student pursuing 5 year LLB or 3 year LLB course or any LLM aspirant or Young Lawyers.
