Announcement for Research Assistant Position
Vasundhara is seeking research assistant(s) for a research study on the provisions of community forest rights under the Forest Rights Act.
This research is being coordinated by Vasundhara, Bhubaneswar[1] and Kalpavriksh, Pune[2] and is part of a national Community Forest Rights Learning & Advocacy process[3].
This research will include studies in select states (Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Maharashtra, West Bengal) along with consultations and workshops.
Job Description / Responsibilities
The RA will support the overall research study in the following areas:
Designing and delivering concept note and methodology
Carrying out field work and collection of primary and secondary data
Analysis and compilation of data
Drafting reports.
Coordinate with govt and non government organizations as per the study requirement.
Support organizing consultations and workshops.
Minimum qualifications
We are looking for candidate having an advanced degree in social science, sociology, social work, forest management or related disciplines.
Prior experience in qualitative/ participatory research in rural/forest/tribal context and exposure to the process of implementation of Forest Rights Act would be desirable.
Additional skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Expertise in ms word, PowerPoint, spreadsheets
The study will involve extensive travelling to the states and areas identified for the study.
Remuneration
Salary will be commensurate with qualification and experience of the candidate. The position is for one year which can further be extended based on performance.
The RA will be posted at Vasundhara, Bhubaneswar.
