Literary and Debating Society (LDS), College of Legal Studies, UPES is pleased to introduce the National Book Review event as a part of IGNITE 2016.
About
This event will test your adjudicating prowess in reviewing a book.
Now, coming to the books that we expect you to review; any book with a legal aspect will do.
We expect you to choose a book and may ask you to give us the justification which proves the legal aspect of that particular book, in case the title is not making the legal aspect of that particular book clear.
Also, novels with a legal plot will be considered. For example, novels like ‘How to kill a mockingbird’ or John Grisham’ novels will also be considered.
Rules
The book should have a legal aspect to it. You will be expected to give a justification as to the legal side of the book. For example, if you are choosing a book on International Relations, you will be required to give a review as such which will prove the legal perspective.
The word limit for the book review is 400-500 words.
The decision of the Judge will be binding and final.
All submissions will be ONLINE.
Prizes
Cash Prizes for Book Review (along with winner certificates):
1st- Rs. 5000
2nd- Rs. 3000
3rd – Rs.2000
Participation certificates for all participants.
Registration Fee
The Registration fee is Rs.500.
Any Person participating in Ignite 2016 can participate in any THREE ONLINE Events for registration fee of Rs. 500.
So, if a participant is thinking of participating in Online Legal Book Review, he/she can participate in any TWO other events.

Send your entries before February 15, 2016 via email in a word doc. (without disclosing your identity in any form, in the document which contains your entry) to ldscolsupes@gmail.com with the Subject: National Book Review Competition, IGNITE 2016.
