About
CSIR – National Institute of Science Communication and Information Resources (NISCAIR), a premier institute in the field of Library and Information Science and Science Communication, has announced 21 short term training programmes for the year 2016-17.
Based on the feedback from the participants, we have introduced training programmes on new topics also. The training programme calendar 2016-17 is attached herewith for your kind reference.
The same is available on NISCAIR website.
The following three programmes are scheduled during the month of August and September 2016:
1. Content Management using Joomla : 29th August – 2nd September, 2016
Last date for application – 23rd August, 2016
2. Science Communication : September 5th – 9th, 2016
The programme covers topics like: Science Communication & Popularization in India; Science Writing for Magazines, Newsletters & Newspapers; Principles of Research Communication for Journals; Publishing & Copyrights;Creation of Information Resources, e.g. Encyclopaedic Publications, etc. ; Use of Modern IT Tools in Science Communication; Initiation into Video Communication; Role of Graphic Arts in Popular Science Communication; Production & Printing of S&T Publications
Last date for application – 30th August, 2016
Practical Training
We at NISCAIR give importance to more of practical training rather than dealing with simple theoretical concepts. The participants are given more time for hands-on on different software covered in respective training programmes.
Fee
For Indian participants the training programme fee is Rs. 4800/- (without accommodation) and Rs. 6900/- (with accommodation).
The programme fee includes course kit, boarding lunch, two times tea.
Participants will get participation certificate after successful completion of the training programme.
The intended audience for the training programmes are R&D personnel, library and information science professionals, science communicators/publishers and students etc.
Limited seats are available on first-cum-first-serve basis.
The courses will be useful for professionals to upgrade their skills. I would like to request you to nominate few participants for the training programme by sending the scanned copies of filled in application form (attached herewith) and demand draft of required fee for reserving the seats in the programme followed by hard copies by post.
