About the organiser and seminar:

Shahaji Law College, Kolhapur, Maharashtra, is organizing a One Day National Seminar on “Trafficking of Women: Causes, Consequences AND Socio-Legal Responses” on 30 March 2019. The said seminar is sponsored by National Commission for Women.

Trafficking of women for the purpose of sexual exploitation, prostitution, forced labour, slavery and servitude is a worldwide phenomenon unfolding by leaps and bounds every day. Many International Conventions supported by National Legislations and Policies are put in place by the national and international communities to curb this ever-growing menace.

However, the ground realities narrate different stories. Of the agencies tasked to ameliorate the conditions of women, the National Commission for Women.
