Faculty of Law, SRM University, Sonipat presents the National Seminar on Recent Development in Indian Judicial Approach towards Timely Justice on April 12, 2019.
Concept Note
The fundamental point of Speedy justice is to provide Justice to the general public and to make Judiciary more effective and dependable. Right to speedy trial being an internationally recognized human right and is thus a part of our national grundnorm by virtue of Article 21 of the Constitution. Right to speedy trial is right of the offender which he can use in every stage such as investigation, inquiry, trial, appeal, revision and retrial.
As per the quote “Justice Delayed is Justice Denied” it is clear that if legal redress is available for a party that has suffered some injury but is not forthcoming in a timely fashion, it is effectively the same as having no redress at all gives the expression that to achieve Justice it should be provided as soon as possible.
The courts and the governing body have effectively acknowledged the Right to Speedy trial as one of the vehicles of decreasing the expanding outstanding tasks at hand on the courts for the Justice. Thus for achieving Timely Justice many developments in the field of Technology has been done and ADR Mechanisms are being introduced in India as well as there is a need to appoint more judges in the court.
