The People’s Union for Civil Liberties is organising the 33rd JP Memorial Lecture at Delhi on March 23, 2013.
23rd March is the day when the emergency imposed by Indira Gandhi was lifted owing to the democratic forces. Mr. Jayprakash Narayan was the driving force behind people’s movement against the dictatorial regime and hence, it is known as J.P. Memorial day. The details of the event are –
