Law Centre-I is organising Udghosh – National Nukkad Natak Competition as a part of its Golden Jubilee Celebrations. Law Centre-I has been a pioneer Institute in imparting education in the field of Law using formal and the informal, innovative ways to teach law and raise issue of social justice. Law Centre-I has its own Nukkad Natak team which has time and again performed Nukkad nataks as part of its legal awareness programmes. Nukkad Nataks are a very effective way to put across the message in an interesting manner, leaving an unforgettable impression on the minds of the audiences.
Law centre-I is celebrating its Golden Jubilee year and to make the celebration more vibrant, the Centre is organising “UDGHOSH, The National Nukkad Natak Competition” for which teams from law schools are cordially invited to participate. There is no registration fee. The participants have to make their own lodging and boarding arrangements.
THEME: “FROM PINK AND BLUE TO A RAINBOW WORLD: A SEMI-CENTENARY CELEBRATION OF GENDER STRUGGLE”
Date: 6th March 2020
Venue: Law Centre-I, Umang Bhawan, Chhatra Marg, Delhi University, Delhi-110007
Sub-themes
- Gender stereotype
- Domestic violence
- Female foeticide
- Dowry
- Sexual Abuse: Children, Female, Male
- Gender vs. Sex
- Sexual harassment
- Acid attacks, etc.
The list of sub-themes is not exhaustive and the participants may choose any other issue that bears relevance to the theme.
Rules
- Each team must have minimum 8 and maximum 12 participants.
- All the participants must be from the same institute, although students from different years are allowed to form a team.
- There will be one round in which each team will have to perform for 10 minutes. Use of extra time will lead to deduction of marks.
- Any kind of obscenity reported during the performance will lead to immediate disqualification of the team.
- Any electronic device or music recording is not allowed.
- Teams have to bring their own costumes and props etc. which they intend to use during their performance.
- Play should be bilingual in Hindi and English which is used during the general course of the day to day conversations.
- Pre-registration is mandatory for all the teams. The last date for registration is 26th February 2020.
- Interested teams must register at the link given here .
Along with the registration, the team is required to submit the following by WhatsApp to 9868012202 for final selection:
- Synopsis of the nukkad natak/Script
- Short clip of 2-3 minutes of the nukkad natak
The clip should not disclose the name of the institution. The synopsis/script should have a separate page indicating the name of team leader/contact person, number of participants, year and course of study, name of the institution. This page should be duly signed by the Head/Principal/Incharge of the institution. The shortlisting shall be done by a pre-jury consisting of experts outside of the Law Centre-I, after coding of the entries.
The selected teams will be intimated by 29th February 2020. Decision of the judges will be binding and final.
The performance will be judged on the following parameters
- The relevance of script to the theme.
- Public engagement
- Team coordination
- Presentation: Language, Energy, Enthusiasm, Use of props
The marks division for the performance is as follows
- Total Marks = 100
- Script 25
- Public Engagement 25
- Team Coordination 25
- Presentation 25
NOTE: All the participants will get the Certificates of Participation.
Winners will be awarded Mementos and Certificates of Appreciation.
