NUALS Parliamentary Debate Competition 2014 [Oct 10-12]: Register by Oct 1

Dear Debaters, Adjudicators and Debate Enthusiasts,

The Interdisciplinary Centre for Social Justice (ICSJ) at the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi is hosting the first edition of “The NUALS Parliamentary Debate Competition”.

The Centre for Social Justice hopes to bring together young minds to debate contemporary issues of  social relevance, particularly in the realm of Social Justice.

The Centre aims to conduct a stimulating debate, which is predominantly focused on the theme of social justice, and officially invites all interested to register for the first edition of the NUALS Parliamentary Debate Competition 2014.

The National Parliamentary Debating Competition is scheduled  to be held from 10th to 12th October, 2014 at the NUALS campus. The debate will follow the Asian Parliamentary Debate format, and accordingly each team is to consist of three speakers and one adjudicator.

It is an open tournament and cross teams will be allowed. There’s a tournament cap of 30 teams and only 3 teams per institution is allowed. Adjudicators can apply independently.

 The prize money for the tournament is a whopping total of INR 40,000 which will include cash prizes for the best team, the runner up team, the best speaker and the best adjudicator.

Applications must be sent in on or before the 1st of October, 2014.

The registration fee is INR 800 per team. Accommodation will be provided by the organizers on the payment of a separate fee.
