The Sports Committee, NLSIU in association with the Law Offices of Nandan Kamath, is organising the 2nd Spiritus Sports Law Essay Competition.
The topics are as follows:
1. To what extent, if any, should clothing and equipment guidelines of international sports bodies accommodate religious practices and beliefs of participating athletes?
2.Should the law prohibit persons who hold or have held political office from being office-bearers of sports associations and federations in India?
3. Should the use of live steaming apps such as Periscope and Meerkat be prohibited at sports events?
4. Should an athlete be granted any exclusive rights in an exceptional ‘play’, ‘move’ or ‘signature moment’ that he/she has participated in or created during matchplay?
Submit entries to spiritus.sportslawessay@gmail.
Last Date for Submissions: 9th August, 2015 (11:59 pm).
The word limit is 3500-4000 words (inclusive of footnotes). Style of citation to be used is Oscola (4th Edition 2012). Co-authorship is permitted.
Authors of the winning entries will receive cash prizes and the opportunity to intern at the offices of Mr. Nandan Kamath.
Prizes:
1st Prize: Rs. 7500
2nd Prize: Rs. 5000
3rd Prize: Rs. 2500
