About
Jus Cultura (JC), the Literary, Debating and Quizzing Society at National Law Institute University, Bhopal is extremely pleased to invite you to the 1st NLIU Literary & Quiz Festival, which is being held on 19th and 20th November, 2016.
The Fest is hosted by the National Law Institute University, Bhopal, which is one of the premier legal institutions in India. NLIU is also behind none in competitive events, especially quizzing, where its students have brought laurels to the University through the years. We bring to you an exciting set of formal and informal events.
Literary Events
A. Discussion and Interactive Session:
The Fest will host Mr. Kiran Nagarkar, a Sahitya Akademi Award Winner, who will deliver the key note address, and conduct an interactive discussion with the participants.
B. Poetry Slam [Slam Blues]:
Well-known writer and poet, Ms. Harnidh Kaur, author of ‘The Inability of Words’, will be judging this event. The Slam will be conducted in collaboration with Mehfil, an organisation known for conducting poetry competitions in Bhopal.

C. Theatre Competition [The Upside Down]:
Theatre groups shall present one-act plays (or conventional plays) and renowned actors and playwrights will judge the competition.

NLIU General Quiz
The Quiz shall be based on a general theme, and shall comprise a preliminary round and a final round. The Quiz Master is Mr. Sreshth Shah, one of the best quizzers in the country. He is the current reigning Tata Crucible Corporate and Campus Champion. Other achievements include wins at TAPMI Quiz on the Beach, the St. Stephen;s Quizzing Festival, Mood Indigo, Antaragni, and the Kolkata Quiz Festival. He has also hosted quizzes at IIT Kanpur, BITS Pilani and Lady Shriram College.

₹10,000 (Winner), ₹7,500 (Runner Up) and ₹5,000 (Second Runners’-Up)
Informal Events
Spelling Bee: Participants will have to provide the spellings of words given to them based on spelling, etymology, etc. This is an individual event.
Turncoat: Each individual participant will have to alternately speak for and against a given topic for a specified time period, thus demonstrating their ability to think on their feet and understand both sides of an issue.
Charades & Pictionary: Old party-favourites! Participants are required register in teams of 3-5 persons.
Treasure Hunt: Participants will be sent on an hour-long hunt in teams of three.
Crossword: Participants can prove their mettle in the ultimate test of vocabulary, strategy and quick thinking as they race against time and their opponent to figure out a crossword puzzle as per given clues, in this addictive word game. Participants are required to register in teams of two.
