Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Mullana, officially Maharishi Markandeshwar, Mullana, is a deemed university at Mullana near Ambala in the state of Haryana, India. It was founded in 1993 in the name of Maharishi Markandeshwar Ji.
About the Competition
Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Mullana is organising the 2nd National Legal Essay Writing Competition 2019. The competition aims to provide a platform to law students and others to express their views on any one of this theme:
- Globalization and Nationalism
- Data Privacy in Digital Age
- Role of Youth in Nation Building
The essay must be written in English.
Co-authorship (maximum of two authors) is permitted. However, only one entry is allowed per author.
Essays presenting original thoughts shall be considered for the competition. No part of it should have been published earlier nor should it be under consideration for publication or a contest elsewhere. Moreover, any form of plagiarism will result in disqualification of the essay. The organizers’ reserve all the rights related to the essay.
No part of the essay, except the cover page, should contain any identification of the author. In the cover page, the candidate must mention his name, class, affiliating institution, e-mail id and contact number.
Prize Money
First Prize: Rs. 5,000/-
Second Prize: Rs. 2,500/-
Eligibility Criteria
The Competition is open to all the students who are pursuing LLB (3years) /LLB (5years) Integrated Course /LLM or any student from any recognized University or College across the country.
Important Dates
Last Date of Submissions: 4th September 2019
Announcement of Result: 10th September 2019.
Submission Procedure
The submission shall consist of an abstract, essay and scanned copy of ID card of the institute/ college/ university. An abstract should not be more than 300 words inclusive of title and keywords.
The essay should not be more than 3000 words (excluding footnotes and abstract). A uniform pattern of citation must be strictly followed.
All essay is to be submitted at legalessay.mmdu[at]gmail.com both word (doc or .docx) and PDF (.Pdf) format with the subject titled as, “TITLE OF ESSAY: NAME OF AUTHOR(S) & COLLEGE”.
