Over the last 8 years, Lawctopus has been synonymous with law students. With over 250,000 readers and over 1.5 million page-views a month, we are the largest platform (online or offline) for law students on this planet.

Our content consists of opportunities and events, internship experiences, interviews, career advisory pieces and more, with everything being done with the mission to enable informed and inspired careers for young people.

Campus Leaders are students (undergraduate or post-graduate) who are our eyes and ears in various law schools and universities.

Who can be a college manager? What are the qualifications?

  1. You should be a law student (LL.B, LLM) in any law college (recognized, unrecognized, derecognized, asked for a bribe) in India.
  2. You should be a proactive person willing to work hard and take initiative. This is a serious commitment (because we’ve been law students ourselves and know how busy you really are!) 🙂
  3. You must have regular access to internet both in college and at your home.
  4. You must be willing to do marketing related tasks.

What are your responsibilities?

  1. Tell us about newsworthy events and opportunities conducted/held in your college and upload them on the dashboard.
  2. Interview the star students and faculty in your college, and lawyers in and around your area.
  3. Encourage students in your college (regularly) to contribute internship experiences, law school reviews, and blogs.
  4. Help us promote and market our advertisers and our products/services in your college.
  5. Write for us! Get a chance to be published on Lawctopus.
  6. Help us connect to various people in your college.
  7. Generally, promote the Lawctopus brand on social media and beyond!

Some other details

  • Being a Campus Leader is a voluntary, unpaid position.
  • 1-10 campus leaders can be selected per college (depending on the size of the college).
  • You are required to work for around 2 hours/week. Usually, 1-2 tasks are allotted every month.
  • We give no task which cannot be completed along with your college, co-curricular activities, exams or even internships. Relax! We understand your world!

  4. I think Lawctous team wants to inject entreprenueral skills into the minds of law students and upcoming Lawyers. Advocates are unable to sell their skills like other professionals because of restrictions imposed by Advocates Act, 1961 and Bar Council of India Rules. Which type of cases are being dealt by the Advocate is unknown to others, firms, NGOs, Govt. organizations, Banks, Insurance Companies, Corporates. Advocates can’t issue advertisements like other marketing firms or companies.

    Due to globalization and free market economy many, many new branches are emerging. Legal profession is also not an exception. If the people know about your skills, then they will approach otherwise how the Advocate will grow? or how he will develop? At present those who are massive social and political contacts are growing or developing. Those who don’t have proper support cannot grow even after two or three decades.

    We cannot find a situation in our country like Corporates are approaching the Advocates or professionals on their own to work for them. Talented people have to do pradakshins around them or search for some influential people or political leaders for opportunity and to recommend them. When the situation will change? Corporates have to search for the talented people on their own and have to invite the professionals to work for them, a little training is necessary in some cases to understand the nature of work. If Corporates invite professionals from outside, local professionals will be angered. There will be a competition between locals and non-locals. I think this is also a cause for BREXIT. Corporates have to search for the talented people locally and have to allow them to grow. We are also seeing the news .. companies are sending their professionals to foreign countries for training to update their skills.

    The above opinions are testimony to the feelings being expressed by the Law interns. When you want to start a new approach others will prefer to disappoint or misguide or mislead you. It is quite common or natural . If your vision is right then the path will become a smooth one. We are living in a globalized world, each and every one of us must have sufficient money or resources to lead decent and comfortable life. Otherwise we will be pushed into poverty or poverty like conditions.

    The best thing is prepare well in advance while you are studying Law and collect all practical hints to develop on your own once you entered into this legal profession. Don’t neglect latest science and technologies also. Once the manual activities replaced with digital activities our profession will change. If we don’t have sufficient technological skills we will be lagged behind. To become rich we must follow new science and technological advances. Employable skills are must for every Advocate from the grassroots. If you think that you are not fit for this profession you must be capable to shift to some other profession without any frustration. Otherwise you will be depressed. Once your valuable time is wasted you cannot settle in your profession.

    We must invite new approaches to strengthen the legal education and legal profession. We have to encourage the teams like LAWCTOPUS.
