The Kalliopi Koufa Foundation for the Promotion of International and Human Rights Law is hosting its Second Summer Course on International Environmental Governance.

About
The 2016 session will deal with the ever-increasing importance of International Environmental Law and is titled ‘International Environmental Governance: Contemporary Challenges and Prospects’.
The question of how well the international community addresses environmental challenges is worth a renewed interest after the adoption of the Paris agreement for climate change in December 2015.
The 2016 Thessaloniki Summer Course will review the development of international environmental law over the past forty-four years and focus on its role in addressing environmental problems and contemporary challenges of its implementation and enforcement.
The Programme will include an introductory as well as several specialised courses on international environmental law.
In addition, participants will attend special lectures, seminars as well as round tables offered by academics, experts, policy advisers and practitioners.
Language
The entire session will be held in English.
Fee
The participation fee is 300€ (or 250€ for early-bird applicants).
The fee covers registration, attendance, course material and the appropriate certificate of attendance.
However, accommodation, travel expenses and meals are not included.
The Foundation may offer a limited number of scholarships upon its discretion to candidates who are nationals of non-EU and non-OECD countries and hold a law degree at the time of application.
Eligibility
Graduate and postgraduate students, especially LLM students and PhD candidates, researchers and practitioners from all over the world, with a keen interest in international environmental law.

Deadline
The application deadline is on 1st June, 2016 (or March 15, 2016 for early bird applications with a reduced fee).
