SCOIblog.in: An Informational and Analytical Resource on the Supreme Court of India
Call for Reporter-cum-Blog Administrator
The Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy (“Vidhi”) invites applications from suitable candidates for the post of “Reporter-cum-Blog Administrator”, a fully-paid and full-time engagement based out of Vidhi’s offices in New Delhi.
The post will be initially for a period of one (1) year and be renewed for an additional year subject to performance.
The Reporter-cum-Blog Administrator will work in the SCOIblog team at Vidhi and form an integral part of the day-to-day running of SCOIblog.in; a website dedicated to the focussed coverage and analysis of the Supreme Court of India.
The work will include, but not be limited to –
Identifying and following important ongoing petitions at the Supreme Court of India by going through the daily cause-list and following other relevant developments at the SC in the media;
Attending hearings of ongoing petitions at the SC on a regular basis;
Writing content for the website that will include posts on daily developments, summaries of judgements, and op-ed pieces on important cases;
Compile court statistics from the SC and interpret them for lay readers;
Finding out information on ongoing petitions from offices of senior counsels and by speaking to others in the legal fraternity;
Collecting material for featured posts and op-ed pieces for the website;
Managing interns and external contributors for getting content for the website;
Being responsible for uploading daily content to the website on a timely basis.
Applications are invited from candidates with either an under-graduate degree in law or journalism. Experience in legal reporting and/or litigation at the Supreme Court is preferable.
The position will carry with a competitive retainer of up to Rs. 50,000 per month, subject to merit and experience.
