JOB PROFILE:
The Legal Officer will work with the Affordable Medicines & Treatment Campaign (AMTC) team on drafting and filing Patent Oppositions.
The work profile also includes making appearances at various patent controllers’ offices for pre and post grant patent oppositions.
The Technical Officer will work with the AMTC in identifying medicines of public health relevance and its corresponding patent applications.
The work profile also includes researching the chemistry of the relevant medicines, formulating patent opposition strategies, doing prior
art/invalidation search and drafting and filing patent oppositions.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
For Legal Officer
Bachelor’s degree in law with sound knowledge of Chemistry & Patent Law.
For Technical Officer
Doctorate or Masters in Medicinal chemistry / pharmaceutical chemistry / biochemistry / organic chemistry or other related disciplines & sound knowledge of Patent Law.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
For Legal Officer: 0-3 years experience in litigation/research.
For Technical Officer: 5-6 years experience in research in relevant field.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Spoken and written English; spoken Hindi.
Basic computer skills; Grasp over MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
