Neeati Narayan, our long standing editor (who’ll remain as awesome as she says she is) is leaving us. Actually Tanuj and Neeati had a breakup and hence the decision. Kidding!
Neeati is in her 4th year and is doing awesome internships this time around. Basically, she has better things in life to do than work on Lawctopus (though she doesn’t admit this and tells us that she really wants to continue with Lawctopus!). Liar.
Mohona Thakur is leaving too. Now, Mohona and Tanuj really had a breakup. Kidding again. Lawctopus is not a dating or matrimonial site (though, on second thoughts would that be a good idea?).
LAWCTOPUS IS A WEBSITE FOR LAW STUDENTS. (Oops! That didn’t need shouting).
Over the last 5 years, we’ve been providing content that is useful for law students in their careers. Throughout our journey, we’ve been benefited by at least a 1000 (not kidding!) college managers who’ve worked for us without earning a buck. That’s the spirit of the ‘community’ though well, erm, we do incentivise them with, well, bucks!
BUT HERE’S THE DEAL. We are changing. Massively. From orange to brown. Sorry. I meant, from ‘useful’ to ‘more useful’. Yes, that’s the idea, from ‘useful’ to ‘more useful’.
We remain a website, but introduce the dynamism of a startup into it. And for that, we need you. Who else could we need? Neeati? Nah, not Neeati. We need you.
Time to get serious. Stop smiling please.
We are recruiting for 3 positions. All for students. All paid. (Severely underpaid for the work we make you do).
But you get paid in the long term with all the internships, contacts and career advice we bring on board.
Need an internship at a big law firm? We surely have a ‘contact’ there. Seriously, ask Neeati. We’ve already told her what to say. (Neeati, please delete this).

Important Things
1. For all positions we’ve mentioned a ‘boring’ work. Let me assure you that this boring work will only take 25% 75% of your time. Rest of the time you’ll be working on exciting things.
2. Secondly, we know you’ll have exams and moots. We know you’ll fall in love and have breakups. Just like Neeati and Mohona (shh!). However, in no circumstance does your work stop. It’s like a job. Happens everyday. There are no exams or moots during which you can’t spend an hour a day. If you fall ill, you can let us know. If you fall ill too often, we’ll let you know.
3. We pay every month or every 2 months depending on our mood and on how much you’ve bugged us.
4. You can apply for only one position. (Feel free to apply for two actually. We’ll pay you for one only).
Jokes apart. This is serious business.
The last date to apply is May 26. [Pre-poned].
The earlier you apply the better your chances of getting selected.
Please include your phone number in your cover letter.
In case of any queries, please leave a comment.
Delhi based candidates will be ‘preferred’ (because Lawctopus is based out of Delhi). It’s not a mandatory requirement. Most work happens online, though it’s good to meet sometimes.
