The Indian Society of International Law (ISIL), a premier national institution for teaching, research and promotion of international law, was established in 1959, primarily due to the efforts of the late V.K. Krishna Menon.
ISIL is organising its Eighth Winter Course on International Migration and Refugee Law commencing from Tuesday, 1 January 2019, to Saturday, 5 January 2019.
The topics will relate to: History and Origin of International Refugee Law (IRL), Who is a Refugee?, Asylum and International Law, Inclusion and Exclusion of Refugees, Durable Solutions. Vulnerable Class of Refugees, Indian Laws related to Migration and Refugees, War Refugees, Undocumented Migrants, Regional Approaches to Refugees, Global Migration and New York Declaration, Internally Displaced Persons, Security and Human Rights issues, Refugees at Sea, etc.
The course will comprise of classroom lectures, discussion, counseling and library consultation on weekdays.
The course fee would be Rs. 3,000/- for students and Rs. 3,500/- for teachers and lawyers.
Maximum 300 participants can be admitted on the basis of first-cum-first-serve basis.
Demand drafts shall be drawn in favour of the Indian Society of International Law.
