About the Internship

Summer Internship Program 2019: Blogging for Nature

The internship program aims at researching and reporting on issues related to environmental policy & regulation in the Himalayan Uttarakhand.

The applicants are expected to undertake extensive research assignments and produce evidence-based, data powered and well-researched outputs in the form of blogs.

Applicants will get an opportunity to publish their original research with Gati. Applicants will work on coming up with creative, engaging and well-structured blogging series for their research assignment.

Applicants will be expected to produce two to three blogs per week. Candidate must be expected to stick to deadlines strictly.

Research projects will be based on the following topics: solid waste management, air pollution, forest governance, urban greenery, char dham all-weather highway project, climate change in the Himalayas, ecotourism in Uttarakhand and water crisis in the Himalayan region.

Requisites for Internship

1. Fluent in writing in English.
2. Comfortable with going on the field for research and data collection.
3. Familiar with social media forums especially Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
4. Willing to read and research lots of literature.
5. Have the ability to research and write on ongoing environmental trends and issues.
6. Self-driven and committed to writing on issues of environmental conservation.

Place of Internship: Dehradun, Uttrakhand, India

Stipend: Rs. 2000 per month and a certificate will be provided by the foundation.

Duration: 2 months (1 June to 31 July 2019)
